Cetirizine HEXAL juice for allergies is an anti-allergic drug used to relieve nasal and eye symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, as well as to relieve hives (urticaria).It is suitable for adults and children aged 2 and over.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient of cetirizine HEXAL juice for allergies is cetirizine dihydrochloride.Each milliliter of the oral solution contains 1 milligram of cetirizine dihydrochloride.The other ingredients are acetic acid 20%, glycerol 85%, sodium acetate trihydrate, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (Ph.Eur.), propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (Ph.Eur.), propylene glycol, saccharin sodium, sorbitol solution 70% (crystallizing) (Ph.Eur.), purified water and banana aroma.

Dosage and application

Cetirizine HEXAL juice for allergies can be taken undiluted.The pack contains a 5 ml measuring spoon with graduations of 2.5 ml and 1.25 ml. The recommended dosage is as follows:

Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 10 mg (10 ml solution) once daily.

Children 6 to 12 years: 5 mg (5 ml solution) twice daily.

Children 2 to 6 years: 2.5 mg (2.5 ml solution) twice daily.

Patients with kidney failure: 5 mg (5 ml solution) once daily.

The duration of intake depends on the type, duration and course of the symptoms.It is recommended that it is best taken in the evening.

Contraindications

Cetirizine HEXAL juice for allergies must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, in severe renal insufficiency, in allergies to piperazine derivatives, in infants and children under 2 years of age and during breastfeeding.Use during pregnancy should be avoided due to insufficient experience.

Side effects

Possible side effects may include gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, tiredness, sleepiness, restlessness, sore throat, dry mouth, runny nose, discomfort, skin hypersensitivity reactions such as itching and rash, malaise and general weakness.

Storage

Cetirizine HEXAL juice for allergies should be kept out of the reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the label and carton.After opening, the solution can be used for 3 months.No special storage conditions are required.
