Area of application
Blanel effervescent tablets are a means of treating urinary stone disease.They are used to prevent the recurrence or increase in size of calcium stones, primarily calcium oxalate stones, as well as to alkalinize the urine in the case of uric acid stones, even if calcium stones are present at the same time.To support the effect of the drug, the salt intake should be reduced and the daily drinking amount increased during treatment.

Each effervescent tablet contains 1.41 g citric acid, 1.59 g potassium citrate 1-water, 159 mg sodium carbonate and 980 mg sodium bicarbonate.In addition, sodium cyclamate, povidone K30, sorbitol and flavorings are included as other ingredients.
Contraindications
Blanel must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredients or other ingredients, if you have impaired kidney function, severe liver dysfunction, metabolic alkalosis, chronic urinary tract infections with urea-splitting bacteria, severe high blood pressure, a low-salt diet and adynamia episodica hereditaria.No prescription is required for this product.
Dosage
The daily dosage should be chosen individually so that a urine pH of 6.0 - 7.0 is achieved before the next medication.Adults usually take 3 - 4 effervescent tablets per day, divided into three individual doses.In the case of calcium stones, you can alternatively take 1 - 2 effervescent tablets as a single dose in the evening.The duration of use depends on individual requirements and is determined by the treating doctor.
Intake
The effervescent tablets should be dissolved in a glass of drinking water after meals and the contents should be drunk completely.
Patient information
Particular caution is required for known diseases that can contribute to urinary stone formation.Children should not take the medicine as there is insufficient data.No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.
Pregnancy
There is no experience with the use of Blanel in pregnant women.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should only take the product if your doctor considers it clearly necessary.
