Areas of application
Azela-Vision® sine contains the active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride and belongs to the group of antihistamines.These work by protecting the body from substances such as histamine, which are released during allergic reactions.The medicine has also been proven to relieve eye inflammation.
Azela-Vision® sine is used in adults and children aged 4 and over to treat and prevent eye problems due to hay fever (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis).In adults and children aged 12 and over, it can also be used to treat and prevent eye problems due to allergies to house dust mites or animal hair (perennial allergic conjunctivitis).
No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The active ingredient is azelastine hydrochloride with a concentration of 0.5 mg/ml.One drop (30 µl) contains 0.015 mg azelastine hydrochloride.The other ingredients are sorbitol solution 70% (crystallizing), hypromellose, sodium edetate, sodium hydroxide solution (for pH adjustment) and water for injections.
Dosage and application
For eye problems due to hay fever, the recommended dose for adults and children aged 4 and over is one drop in each eye morning and evening.If contact with pollen is expected, the product can be used as a preventive measure before leaving the house.
For eye problems due to allergies to house dust or animal hair, the recommended dose for adults and children aged 12 and over is one drop in each eye morning and evening.
The medicine should not be used for longer than 6 weeks without medical advice.If symptoms persist for a long time, a doctor should be consulted.
Instill the medicine into the conjunctival sac of each eye.To use, tilt your head back.After instillation, slowly close your eye and lightly press the tear duct between your nose and inner eyelid with your finger.Contact lenses should not be worn during or for 15 minutes after application.
Storage
Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the single-dose container, sachet and carton.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.Do not store above 25°C.
After first opening the sachet, the product should be used within 28 days.Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater.Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to azelastine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients.Children under 4 years of age should not use the medicine.Children under 12 years of age should only use it for certain applications, after consulting a doctor or pharmacist.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medicine should only be used after consulting a doctor.
Side effects
Possible side effects include eye irritation and taste disorders (bitter taste).If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Patient information
Be careful not to let the tip of the bottle touch the eye or the eye area to avoid contamination and possible infection.If symptoms worsen or persist for more than 48 hours without improvement, consult a doctor.
If temporary blurred vision occurs after use, wait until your vision returns before driving or operating machinery.
