Azela-Vision® sine

Azela-Vision® sine is a medicine used to treat and prevent eye problems due to hay fever and allergies to house dust mites or animal hair.The eye drops contain the antihistamine azelastine, which protects the body from the effects of histamine.Histamine is a substance produced during an allergic reaction.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Azela-Vision® sine eye drops can be used in adults and children aged 4 and over to treat and prevent eye problems due to hay fever (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis).In adults and children aged 12 and over, the eye drops can also be used to treat and prevent eye problems due to allergies to house dust mites or animal hair (perennial allergic conjunctivitis).Azela-Vision® sine is free of preservatives.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

Azela-Vision® sine contains the active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride with a concentration of 0.5 mg/ml.One drop (30 µl) contains 0.015 mg azelastine hydrochloride.The other ingredients are sorbitol solution 70% (crystallizing), hypromellose, sodium edetate, sodium hydroxide solution (for pH adjustment) and water for injections.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.

Dosage

Eye problems caused by hay fever (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis): The usual dose for adults and children aged 4 and over is one drop in each eye morning and evening.If contact with pollen is expected, the medicine can be used as a preventive measure before leaving the house.

Eye problems caused by allergies to house dust or animal hair (perennial allergic conjunctivitis): The usual dose for adults and children aged 12 and over is one drop in each eye in the morning and evening.

The safety and effectiveness of the drug in children under 4 years of age have not been established.You must not use the medicine for longer than 6 weeks.The medicine may only be used on the eyes.If symptoms are severe, your doctor may increase the dose to one drop in each eye up to four times a day.

Intake

So that you can instill the eye drops correctly, you should sit in front of a mirror the first few times so that you can see what you are doing better.Wash your hands.Use a cloth to lightly wipe your eyes to remove moisture.Unscrew the bottle and check that the dropper is clean.Gently pull the lower eyelid down.Carefully drip the drop into the center of the lower eyelid.Be careful not to let the dropper touch your eye.Release your lower eyelid and press lightly against your nose from the inner corner of your eye.Continue to press your finger against your nose while blinking slowly several times to spread the drop over the eyeball.Then remove excess eye drops with a cloth.Repeat the process for the other eye.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product if you are not sure that the eye problems were caused by an allergy.Especially if only one eye is affected, if your vision is impaired or the eye hurts and you have no nasal problems, it is more likely an infection than an allergy.If the symptoms worsen or persist for more than 48 hours without noticeable improvement despite using the medicine, you should also consult your doctor or pharmacist.The medicine is not suitable for treating eye infections.

If you experience temporary blurred vision after using the medicine, you should wait until your vision returns before driving or operating machinery.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Notes

Please note the package leaflet.Contact lenses should be removed before use and not reinserted until at least 15 minutes after instillation.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
