Area of application

The healing ointment is used to treat yeast infections of the skin.It is effective for skin infections caused by nystatin-sensitive yeasts, such as Candida albicans.

The healing ointment contains 100,000 international units (IU) nystatin and 200 milligrams of zinc oxide.Thick paraffin and wool wax alcohol ointment are included as excipients.

Contraindications

The healing ointment should not be used if you are allergic to nystatin, zinc oxide or any of the other components of the drug.

Dosage

Always use the healing ointment exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.Apply the ointment to the affected skin areas one to several times a day and cover them completely.If you have any further questions about use, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Treatment should continue for a few days even after complete healing.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the healing ointment.When treating the genital or anal area, the simultaneous use of latex condoms can lead to a reduction in tear resistance and thus to an impairment of the safety of the condoms.

Due to the high osmolarity of nystatin, its use in very underweight and immature premature infants is not recommended.Further information can be found in the instructions for use.

The medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.The preparation should only be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding after a strict benefit-risk assessment.

There are no sufficient data on the use of this product in pregnancy.Large-area application and use on the breastfeeding breast should be avoided.
