Area of application
This remedy is used for proven iron deficiency conditions, especially iron deficiency anemia.Such conditions can arise from increased iron loss, for example during heavy menstrual bleeding, after operations or blood donations, as well as bleeding due to diseases of the digestive tract.Reduced iron absorption, for example after removal of sections of the stomach or intestines, or an increased iron requirement, such as occurs during pregnancy, can also be treated. No prescription is required for this product.
Dosage
The recommended dose for adults is one effervescent tablet daily. For more severe anemia, up to three effervescent tablets can be taken daily.Children and adolescents with a body weight of at least 16 kg should take one effervescent tablet daily, with the maximum dose not exceeding five mg of iron ions per kg of body weight per day.Medicines with lower potency are suitable for children weighing less than 16 kg.The effervescent tablet should be dissolved in half a glass to a glass of water and taken half an hour to an hour before meals. If necessary, the effervescent tablet can also be dissolved in fruit juice containing vitamin C.In the case of gastrointestinal disorders, we recommend reducing the individual doses or taking them with meals rich in meat and containing vitamin C.In children, the solution can be mixed with food to improve tolerance.

Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product. In the case of pre-existing inflammation or ulcers of the gastrointestinal mucosa, the benefits of treatment should be carefully weighed against the risk of worsening the gastrointestinal disease.Taking liquid iron supplements can cause tooth discoloration, which can be removed by intensively cleaning your teeth. In such cases, you should only take the drinking solution through a drinking straw.During the treatment, the stool may turn harmless black and the laundry may discolor accordingly. The medicine is not suitable for children weighing less than 16 kg.So far there is no evidence that the medicine impairs the ability to actively drive or operate machines. The same applies to work without a secure hold.
Pregnancy
If the prescribed dosage is followed, there are no concerns about taking it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Notes
Not all forms of anemia require iron intake. In certain forms, taking additional iron medication can even be detrimental. In rare cases, the teeth can become discolored when taking liquid iron medication, which can be avoided by intensively cleaning the teeth and/or by using a drinking straw or by drinking plenty of fluids. When taking iron, the stool usually turns black and is harmless.Iron can cause constipation. The doctor should check your blood values approximately every 4 weeks.
