Directions for use of the article Ferrous sulphate Lomapharm 65mg. The medicine Ferrous sulphate Lomapharm 65 mg is used to treat iron deficiency. It contains the active substance ferrous sulphate. One tablet contains 65 mg of iron (II). Compared to 50 mg doses, Ferrous Sulphate Lomapharm 65 mg has two advantages: It contains more iron and the price is cheaper than any 50 mg dose. It is a cost-effective preparation that is easy on the wallet. The dosage recommendation is: children weighing 25 kg or more should take one tablet 1-2 times a day, in the morning before a meal. Adults should take one tablet 3 times a day, in the morning, at noon and in the evening, before a meal. The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. The medicinal product should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, anaemia with iron utilisation disorder, haemochromatosis, haemolytic anaemia as well as gastritis, ulcers in the digestive tract and inflammatory bowel diseases. As a rule, the medicinal product should not be used in children under 25 kg body weight. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use. Possible side effects may include gastrointestinal complaints such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhoea and constipation. A doctor or pharmacist should be contacted in the event of any disturbances in the patient's condition or changes during treatment. Precautions should be observed, such as an allergy to iron hydroxide sucrose or dyes and an intolerance to lactose or sucrose. Interactions with other medicines are possible. Coffee, cola drinks, mate tea, green and black tea should be avoided during treatment. Dairy products, drinks containing minerals and mineral supplements should be avoided within 2 hours before and 4 hours after taking the medicine. The medicine should be stored away from heat.
