Floradix iron 100 mg forte is a medicine used to treat iron deficiency in adults.Each film-coated tablet contains 100 mg iron and is suitable for compensating iron deficiency with or without anemia.Iron is crucial for transporting oxygen in the body.If it is missing, well-being can suffer - many of those affected feel exhausted or less resilient, among other things.Floradix Iron 100 mg forte is intended to help replenish iron stores and remedy iron deficiency.

Mode of action

Ingredients of Floradix Iron 100mg forte: One film-coated tablet contains dried iron (II) sulfate 302.237-309.106 mg (corresponding to 100 mg iron (II) ions).Other ingredients: maltodextrin, calcium stearate, lactose monohydrate, copovidone, macrogol 4000, talc, calcium carbonate E 170, cocoa butter, magnesium stearate [pflanzlich], shellac, titanium dioxide E 171, cellulose powder, corn starch, carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), sodium dodecyl sulfate, sucrose (sucrose), povidone K25, iron oxides and hydroxides (E 172).

Contraindications

The product must not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to one of the ingredients, have iron utilization disorders or have excessive accumulation of iron in the body.Floradix iron 100 mg forte must not be taken if you have anemia due to infections or tumor diseases (without simultaneous iron deficiency) or if you have iron overload or iron utilization disorders.

Dosage

The recommended dosage for adults is: 1 film-coated tablet twice a day, on an empty stomach or one hour before meals.The film-coated tablets are swallowed whole with sufficient water.Treatment should generally last around 8 weeks.A further 6-8 weeks may then be necessary to completely replenish the body's iron stores.The product is not intended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be taken whole in the morning on an empty stomach or 1 hour before meals with sufficient liquid to prevent possible damage to the mucous membrane caused by stuck tablets.Swallow the tablet whole with water.Do not suck, chew or keep the tablet in your mouth for long periods of time.

Patient information
