Floradix iron 100 mg forte is a medicine for the treatment of iron deficiency in adults.Each film-coated tablet contains 100 mg iron and is suitable for compensating iron deficiency with or without anemia.Iron is crucial for transporting oxygen in the body.If it is missing, well-being can suffer - many of those affected feel exhausted or less resilient, among other things.Floradix Iron 100 mg forte is intended to help replenish iron stores and remedy iron deficiency.

Mode of action

Ingredients of Floradix Iron 100mg forte:

100 mg iron as dried iron (II) sulfate per film-coated tablet.

Other ingredients: maltodextrin, calcium stearate (vegetable), lactose monohydrate, copovidone, macrogol 4000, talc, calcium carbonate (E170), cocoa butter, magnesium stearate (vegetable), shellac, titanium dioxide (E171), cellulose powder, corn starch, carboxymethyl starch sodium, sodium dodecyl sulfate, sucrose, povidone K 25 and iron oxides(E172).

Contraindications

Floradix iron 100 mg forte must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to iron (II) sulfate or one of the components, there is a disorder in iron utilization, elevated iron levels or iron overload are known or there is anemia that is not caused by iron deficiency.

Dosage

Recommended use of Floradix iron 100mg forte: For adults, it is recommended to take 1 film-coated tablet twice a day, whole and with enough water.It should be taken in the morning on an empty stomach or 1 hour before meals to improve iron absorption.The film-coated tablet must not be sucked, chewed or kept in the mouth for a long time, otherwise irritation of the mucous membranes or discoloration may occur.The duration of therapy depends on the severity of the deficiency.After the blood values have normalized, the intake should be continued for another 6-8 weeks in order to fill the iron stores.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be taken whole in the morning on an empty stomach or 1 hour before meals with sufficient liquid to prevent possible damage to the mucous membrane caused by stuck tablets.Swallow the tablet whole with water.Do not suck, chew or keep the tablet in your mouth for long periods of time.
