Information for use with the product Floradix Eisen 100 mg forte Filmtabletten: Floradix Iron 100 mg forte is used for the treatment of iron deficiency. The film-coated tablet should be taken unchewed in the morning on an empty stomach or 1 hour before meals with plenty of liquid. Adults take 1 film-coated tablet twice a day. The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease and is at least 8 weeks. After normalisation of the blood values, treatment should be continued for a further 6-8 weeks to replenish the iron reserves. Persons under 18 years of age should not use the medicine. In case of impaired renal or hepatic function, there are insufficient data to recommend the dosage. The medicinal product should be stored at room temperature away from heat. Side effects may include gastrointestinal complaints, such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, constipation and blackening of the stools. People with hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the medicine or certain medical conditions should not take the medicine. In case of pregnancy or breast-feeding, a doctor should be consulted before use. Persons with certain underlying diseases, such as gastritis, ulcers in the digestive tract or inflammatory bowel diseases, should use the medicinal product after consulting a doctor or pharmacist.
