Hepar Pasc film-coated tablets are a herbal medicinal product used for the supportive treatment of liver diseases. It contains milk thistle fruit dry extract as the active substance. The use of Hepar Pasc is indicated in chronic inflammatory liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and toxic liver damage caused by liver toxins. The medicinal product is not suitable for the treatment of acute poisoning. The recommended dosage for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over is 1 film-coated tablet 3 to 4 times daily, taken unchewed with sufficient liquid. The duration of use is not limited and should be determined by the attending physician. If symptoms persist, a doctor should be consulted. Side effects such as gastrointestinal complaints (nausea, diarrhoea) and skin reactions (rash, itching, shortness of breath) are possible. In case of overdose, increased side effects may occur and a doctor should be consulted. Hepar Pasc should not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to milk thistle fruit and/or other composite flowers or any of the other ingredients. It should also not be taken by children under 12 years of age, during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
