Description

Hepar Pasc is a herbal medicine made from the fruits of milk thistle (Silybum marianum).Milk thistle protects the liver by preventing harmful substances from entering the liver cells.It also supports the regeneration of the liver and promotes the flow of bile.

Areas of application

This herbal medicine is used to support the treatment of various liver diseases.These include chronic inflammatory liver disease, liver cirrhosis and toxic liver damage caused by liver toxins.However, it is not suitable for the treatment of acute poisoning.

Active ingredients and ingredients

One film-coated tablet contains dry extract of milk thistle fruit, which corresponds to 83 mg silymarin.Acetone is used as an extractant.The other ingredients include crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, cellulose powder, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, magnesium stearate, poly[butylmethacrylat-co-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)methacrylat-co-methylmethacrylat] (1:2:1), titanium dioxide E 171, indigo carmine, aluminum salt E 132, iron oxide hydrate E 172 and iron oxides and hydroxides E 172.

Dosage and intake

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over should take one film-coated tablet whole 3 to 4 times a day with sufficient liquid.The tablets do not need to be chewed and should always be taken with enough liquid.The duration of use is in principle not limited, but should be done in consultation with a doctor.No prescription is required for this product.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if there is a known hypersensitivity to milk thistle fruits, other composite plants or any of the other ingredients.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the drug, as the therapy does not replace the avoidance of liver-damaging causes such as alcohol.If you have any signs of jaundice, you should see a doctor.There are no sufficient studies on use in children under 12 years of age, so the medicine should not be used at this age.No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

The medicine must not be taken during pregnancy.It should not be used during breastfeeding due to insufficient research.
