Procain-Loges 1% Injection Vial is a medicinal product for local anaesthesia and is used for intracutaneous application to healthy skin as part of neural therapeutic principles of application. It contains the active substance procaine hydrochloride and can be used by a doctor or healthcare professional. When using it, care should be taken to use only low-concentration solutions, as repeated use can lead to reversible loss of effect. Even the smallest dose should be administered to achieve the desired nerve block. The dosage should be adjusted to the individual case. For adolescents over 15 years and adults, the usual dose is up to 10 mg per wheal. The maximum recommended single dose is 500 mg procaine. In the case of certain pre-existing conditions and impaired liver or kidney function, a reduction in the dose is necessary. In the event of an overdose, symptoms such as dizziness, tingling and muscle twitching may occur. In this case, immediate emergency measures and antidotes should be initiated by the attending physician. The duration of use is determined by the doctor. The medicinal product should be used with caution in children and the elderly. Side effects may occur, therefore the ability to drive and operate machinery should be assessed individually by the doctor. During pregnancy, the medicinal product should only be used if absolutely necessary. Breast-feeding is not normally required for short-term use, but should be discontinued in the case of repeated treatment with higher doses.
