exoderil® Gel - The rescue for foot and skin fungus

exoderil® Gel works quickly and intensively and is characterized by particularly good tolerability.The symptoms can improve after just a few days if the gel is applied in the evening.The active ingredient naftifine is unique because it has a fungicidal effect against dermatophytes and molds and is still very well tolerated.

Area of application

exoderil® Gel is an antifungal agent and is used for fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes, yeast and molds as well as mixed infections with bacteria.In the case of fungal infections of the nails, a treatment attempt is indicated.

Mode of action

The active ingredient naftifine hydrochloride in exoderil® gel damages the cell membrane of the fungi.As a result, this shell loses its functionality and becomes more permeable to nutrients.The cell begins to starve, which inhibits the growth of the fungi and prevents them from multiplying.Further damage to the cell interior ultimately causes the fungi to die.The active ingredient is also effective against some bacteria and has anti-inflammatory properties.

exoderil® Gel contains the active ingredient naftifine hydrochloride.1 g gel contains 10 mg naftifine hydrochloride.The other ingredients are sodium edetate, carbomer 104, trometamol, polysorbate 80, 2-propanol, propylene glycol and purified water.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.

Dosage

exoderil® gel is applied thinly to the affected skin areas once a day, preferably in the evening, and rubbed in.For fungal infections of the nails, it is recommended to carry out the treatment twice a day.The symptoms usually improve within a few days.However, treatment should be continued for 1-2 weeks after all symptoms have subsided to avoid recurrence.Longer treatment is required for nail fungal diseases, but this should not exceed 6 months.The duration of treatment depends on the pathogen, the extent of the disease and the region of the body affected.

Intake

The gel is applied thinly to the affected skin areas and rubbed in.

Patient information

exoderil® Gel contains alcohol and must not get into the eyes, be applied to mucous membranes or placed in open wounds.Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.

Pregnancy

Medical advice should always be sought before using any medication.When used on the skin, the active ingredient naftifine is only absorbed into the body to a very small extent, so a systemic effect is unlikely.However, use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only be carried out after careful risk-benefit assessment.
