The homeopathic medicinal product LÖWE-complex no. 12 Aesculus is used for the treatment of venous congestion of the legs. It contains a mixture of different active substances such as Aesculus hippocastanum, Arnica montana and Carbo vegetabilis. In case of sudden pain, swelling or bluish discolouration of the legs, a doctor should be consulted immediately, as these can be signs of leg vein thrombosis. Furthermore, non-invasive measures such as wrapping the legs or wearing support stockings may be recommended. The medicinal product should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to arnica and other composite plants. For pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under 12 years of age, there is insufficient experience of use and consultation with the doctor is therefore recommended. There are no known interactions with other medicines. The medicinal product should not be taken in cases of alcohol dependence or liver disease. The recommended dosage is 10 drops 3 times a day, or 10 drops every 2 hours in acute cases. However, the duration of treatment should not be too long without medical advice. There are no known side effects, but there may be a temporary aggravation of existing symptoms, which requires consultation with the doctor. The expiry date of the medicinal product should be observed and the pack should not be used after this date.
