HOW TO USE WAS IST ARNIKA-SALBE 30 % UND WOFÜR WIRD SIE ? Arnica ointment 30 % is an anthroposophical medicinal product for disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the vascular system. Indications: According to the anthroposophical understanding of man and nature, the areas of application include the stimulation and harmonisation of metabolic and form processes in tissue and organ damage, especially after mechanical effects and in disorders of the blood supply; blunt injuries of all kinds such as strains, bruises, contusions, haematomas. 2. NOTE WAS MÜSSEN SIE VOR DER ANWENDUNG VON ARNIKA-SALBE 30 %? Arnica ointment 30 % must not be used on open wounds or if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to arnica or other composite plants such as chrysanthemum and yarrow, to peanut oil / soya oil or to other components of the ointment base. Precautions for use: If symptoms persist for a long time or are unclear, please consult a doctor. Children: Arnica ointment 30 % can be used on schoolchildren from 6 years of age. Weleda Arnica Ointment 10 % is available for infants and small children. Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicines during pregnancy and while breast-feeding. Interactions with other medicinal products: None known. Important information about certain ingredients of Arnica ointment 30 %: Cetylstearyl alcohol may cause local skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis). 3. HOW TO USE WIE IST ARNIKA-SALBE 30 %? Always use Arnica ointment 30 % exactly as directed in this leaflet. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the usual dose for adults and children aged 6 years and over is: Apply Arnica Ointment 30 % to the affected areas of the skin 3 - 5 times a day. The ointment must not be applied to open wounds. Please wash your hands thoroughly with soap after application. Duration of use: Continue treatment until symptoms subside and should be completed after 2 weeks. If there is no improvement within 2 - 5 days, consult a doctor. If you have forgotten to use Arnica Ointment 30%: Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten to use it before. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not completely sure about the use of this medicine. 4. WELCHE NEBENWIRKUNGEN SIND POSSIBLE? Like all medicines, Arnica Ointment 30% can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. When applying preparations containing arnica to the skin, allergic reactions in the form of itching and reddening of the skin with the formation of blisters (eczema) may occur, mostly as a result of pre-existing allergies or due to so-called cross-reactions in the case of hypersensitivity to other composite flowers such as chrysanthemums. Frequent and prolonged use may promote the development of new allergies to arnica. Peanut oil may rarely cause severe allergic reactions. Reporting side effects: If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects that are not mentioned in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly to the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices, Pharmacovigilance Department, Bonn. By reporting side effects, you can help ensure that more information is made available about the safety of this medicine. 5. WAS IST SONST NOCH IMPORTANT? You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the tube and folded box. Storage conditions: Do not store above 25 °C. Composition: 10 g contain: Active substance: 6 g ethanol. Extract of Arnica montana, Planta tota rec. (1:1,1). Ointment base: Refined peanut oil, cetylstearyl alcohol, yellow wax, sodium cetylstearyl sulphate, glycerol (mono, di)stearate, purified water.
