ASS-ratiopharm® 300 mg tablets

ASS-ratiopharm® 300 mg is a pain-relieving, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory medicine.It contains the active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid and is lactose-free.The tablets are cross-broken.

Area of application

This medicine is used for mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, toothaches and period pains, as well as fever.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

Acetylsalicylic acid has a pain-relieving, fever-reducing and blood-thinning effect.It inhibits the formation of prostaglandins, which are involved in the development of pain and send pain signals to the brain.This reduces the pain and inflammatory response.The active ingredient also influences the temperature center of the brain and thereby reduces fever.Acetylsalicylic acid also has an anticoagulant effect by reducing the accumulation of blood platelets.

Contraindications

Do not take the medicine if you have a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.The medicine should also not be taken if you have gastrointestinal bleeding, stomach or duodenal ulcers, a pathologically increased bleeding tendency, liver or kidney failure, severe heart muscle weakness, simultaneous intake of 15 mg or more methotrexate per week, in the last three months of pregnancy or during simultaneous treatment with anticoagulants.

Dosage

The tablets should be taken with plenty of liquid after meals.The individual dosage varies depending on age:

Children aged 7-9 years take 1 tablet as a single dose.Children aged 9-12 take 1-1.5 tablets as a single dose.Children aged 12 and over and adults take 2-3 tablets as a single dose.The single dose can be taken at intervals of 4-8 hours up to 3 times a day.

Intake

Please take the tablets with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water.Avoid taking on an empty stomach.

Particular caution is required when taking it if you are hypersensitive to other anti-inflammatory drugs or allergy-causing substances, allergies, asthma, hay fever, nasal polyps, chronic respiratory diseases, simultaneous treatment with anticoagulant drugs, stomach or intestinal ulcers, a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, impaired liver and kidney function and before operations.Tell your doctor or dentist if you have taken this medicine.If you take painkillers long-term, you may experience headaches, which can lead to you having to take them again.Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.In low doses, acetylsalicylic acid can reduce uric acid excretion and trigger a gout attack in patients who are already prone to low uric acid excretion.The drug can affect fertility in women, but this effect is reversible once the drug is discontinued.In children and adolescents with feverish illnesses, the medicine should only be used on medical advice.Prolonged vomiting can be a sign of Reye's syndrome, a very rare but life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention.No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children.

Pregnancy

You should not take the medicine in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy.Therefore, be sure to consult your doctor before taking it.You should not take acetylsalicylic acid in the last three months of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and baby.During breastfeeding, small amounts of the active ingredient and its breakdown products pass into breast milk.If the recommended dose is used occasionally, there is no need to stop breast-feeding.However, if you use it for a long time or take high doses, you should stop breastfeeding.
