Description

This medicine is an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory agent that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and analgesics.It is used for mild to moderate pain and fever.Special application instructions must be observed for children and young people.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The main active ingredient of this preparation is acetylsalicylic acid at a dosage of 500 mg per tablet.In addition, it contains excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose and corn starch.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid, other salicylates or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also contraindicated if you are hypersensitive to certain painkillers, have acute stomach and intestinal ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding or have a pathologically increased tendency to bleed.Furthermore, the drug must not be taken in cases of liver and kidney failure, severe heart muscle weakness, simultaneous intake of 15 mg or more methotrexate per week or in the last three months of pregnancy.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for children between 6 and 14 years of age is half to one tablet (250 to 500 mg of acetylsalicylic acid) per single dose, with a total daily dose of one and a half to three tablets (750 to 1500 mg of acetylsalicylic acid).Adolescents and adults can take one to two tablets (500 to 1000 mg of acetylsalicylic acid) per single dose, with a total daily dose of three to six tablets (1500 to 3000 mg of acetylsalicylic acid).The single dose can be taken at intervals of 4 to 8 hours up to three times daily if necessary.

If you have liver or kidney dysfunction, the dose must be reduced or the interval between doses must be extended.Do not take this medicine for more than four days without medical or dental advice.

If you suspect an overdose, which may be manifested by symptoms such as ringing in the ears, hearing problems, sweating, nausea, vomiting, headaches and dizziness, please notify your doctor immediately.

Intake

The medicine is intended to be taken orally.Take the tablets whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water, and not on an empty stomach.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the preparation if you are also taking other medicines that contain acetylsalicylic acid or are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.Caution is also advised if you are hypersensitive to other painkillers, if you have allergies, asthma, hay fever, nasal polyps or chronic respiratory diseases, if you are being treated at the same time with anticoagulant drugs, or if you have a history of stomach or intestinal ulcers or bleeding.

If you have impaired liver or kidney function, uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes mellitus or if you are taking diuretics at the same time, the drug should be used with caution.There may be an increased tendency to bleed before and after operations, so please inform your doctor or dentist about your intake.

If painkillers are taken long-term, headaches can occur, which can lead to repeated use and thus cause the headache to continue.Habitual use of painkillers can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.In low doses, acetylsalicylic acid can reduce uric acid excretion and trigger a gout attack in patients at risk.

The drug can impair fertility in women; this effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug.In children and adolescents with feverish illnesses, the medicine should only be used on medical advice and only if other measures do not work.Prolonged vomiting may be a sign of Reye's syndrome, a very rare but life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention.

No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

You should not take the medicine in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy. In the last three months of pregnancy, you should not take acetylsalicylic acid before and during birth due to an increased risk of complications for the mother and child.

The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.If the recommended dose is used occasionally, there is no need to stop breast-feeding.However, if you use it for a long time or take high doses, you should stop breastfeeding.

Medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid should only be used in children and adolescents with febrile illnesses on medical advice and only if other measures do not work.If these illnesses cause prolonged vomiting, it may be a sign of Reye's syndrome, a very rare but life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention.

In case of liver and kidney dysfunction, the dose must be reduced or the interval between doses must be extended.In rare cases, frequent and prolonged use can lead to stomach ulcers and anemia due to hidden gastrointestinal bleeding.If you have black stools, you should contact your doctor immediately.

Dizziness and ringing in the ears can be signs of overdose, especially in children and elderly patients.In these cases, the doctor should be notified.Chronic ingestion of acetylsalicylic acid can cause headaches, which can lead to repeated use and thus maintenance of the headache.

In general, long-term use of painkillers, especially when several painkillers are combined, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.If taken before surgical procedures, the doctor or dentist should be consulted or informed.

If the recommended dosage is exceeded, liver values may increase.Therefore, regular monitoring of liver values is necessary, especially in children.
