Instructions for use for PARACETAMOL STADA 500 mg tablets, 10 pcs

(20 tablets) are used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, period pain and/or fever. It is an analgesic and antipyretic medicine.

Dosage and directions for use

The dosage of paracetamol STADA 500mg tablets varies according to age and body weight. Children aged 4-8 years with a body weight of 17-25 kg should take 1/2 tablet 4 times a day, 6 hours apart. Children from 8-11 years with a body weight of 26-32 kg can also take 1/2 tablet 4-6 times daily (max. 3 tablets per day). Children from 11-12 years with a body weight of 33-43 kg should take 1 tablet 4 times a day. Adolescents from 12 years, adults and children with a body weight of over 43 kg can take 1-2 tablets 4 times a day (max. 8 tablets a day). It should be taken independently of meals with sufficient liquid. The duration of use should not exceed 3 days.

Contraindications

Paracetamol STADA 500mg tablets should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or other components of the medicinal product. Use is also not recommended in cases of impaired liver or kidney function, Gilbert's syndrome or alcohol abuse. As a rule, the preparation should not be used in children under 4 years of age.

Side effects

When using paracetamol STADA 500mg tablets, adverse effects may occur in rare cases. However, only a few side effects have been observed so far. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted in the event of any disturbances or changes during treatment.

Composition

Each tablet contains 500mg paracetamol and other ingredients such as carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and povidone K 90.

Mode of action

The active ingredient paracetamol has analgesic, antipyretic and mild anti-inflammatory properties. It blocks the formation of certain messenger substances in the body that are involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.

Important notes

Persistent use of painkillers can cause headaches, which are caused by the drug itself. Habitual use of painkillers can lead to permanent kidney damage. Regular or heavy alcohol consumption can lead to life-threatening conditions if paracetamol is also used. People with an allergy to painkillers should not take the medicine. Interactions with other medicines are possible, so it is important to inform the doctor or pharmacist about other medicines before treatment. The medicine should not normally be used for children under 4 years of age.

Storage

Paracetamol STADA 500mg tablets should be stored out of reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date which is stated on the outer carton and blister pack.
