Ibuprofen AL acute 400 mg film-coated tablets are used to treat mild to moderately severe pain, such as headache, toothache, period pain and fever. The active ingredient ibuprofen has proved its worth in the short-term treatment of pain and fever due to its analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties. The film-coated tablets can be administered to children as young as 6 years and are divisible to allow age-appropriate dosing. However, treatment should not exceed a few days. Ibuprofen works by inhibiting the formation of the body's own messenger substances that are involved in the transmission of pain and the development of inflammation. Side effects such as tiredness and dizziness may occur, so you should refrain from taking part in road traffic and operating machinery. Medical advice should be sought before use if you have certain pre-existing conditions and during pregnancy. The recommended dosage for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over is 1/2 to 1 tablet taken a maximum of three times a day. The tablets should be taken unchewed with plenty of liquid.
