Information for use of the article ASS-ratiopharm 500 mg tablets: - ASS-ratiopharm 500 mg are tablets containing the active substance acetylsalicylic acid. They are used to treat mild to moderately severe pain and fever. In children and adolescents with febrile illnesses, ASS-ratiopharm 500 mg should only be used on medical advice as it can cause Reye's syndrome. - Certain precautions should be observed before taking ASS-ratiopharm 500 mg, such as allergies to acetylsalicylic acid or other similar substances, stomach and intestinal ulcers, increased bleeding tendency or during pregnancy. It is important to consult your doctor or pharmacist before use. - The recommended dosage of ASS-ratiopharm 500 mg depends on age. Children aged 6 to 14 years should take 1/2 to 1 tablet, while adolescents and adults should take 1 to 2 tablets. The single dose can be taken every 4-8 hours up to 3 times a day if needed. - Side effects of ASS-ratiopharm 500 mg may include gastrointestinal symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In rare cases, stomach or intestinal ulcers may occur, which can lead to serious bleeding. In case of overdose or allergic reactions, you should contact your doctor immediately. - The medicinal product should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.
