Alepafort® is used as a supportive treatment for chronic inflammatory liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and toxic liver damage.No prescription is required for this product.

Each hard capsule contains 177.4-240.4 mg of milk thistle fruit dry extract, the extract being prepared with acetone 95% (V/V).The extract is standardized to 108.2 mg silymarin.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (vegetable), gelatin, purified water, sodium dodecyl sulfate, titanium dioxide and black iron (III) oxide hydrate.

Area of application

The medicine is used as a supportive treatment for chronic inflammatory liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and toxic liver damage.It is not suitable for the treatment of acute poisoning.

Contraindications

You must not take the medicine if you are hypersensitive to milk thistle fruits, other composite plants or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.It is also not allowed to be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Dosage

Adults usually take one hard capsule three times a day.The duration of use is determined by the attending physician.If the symptoms persist despite taking it, you should consult a doctor.In the event of an overdose, the side effects may increase.Avoid making up for a missed dose by taking a double dose.

Intake

Please take one hard capsule whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water (200 ml), in the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening before meals.The medicine should not be taken while lying down.

Patient information

Particular caution is required in cases of jaundice.In this case you should consult a doctor.Treatment only makes sense if you avoid causes that damage your liver, such as drinking alcohol.Children and adolescents under the age of 18 should not take the medicine as there is insufficient data on its safety and effectiveness.There are no known impairments to the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

You must not use the medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding.Women of childbearing age who are not using contraception should also not use the medicine unless pregnancy is ruled out.

Notes

It is not intended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
