People affected by migraine often suffer not only from headaches, but also from nausea and hypersensitivity to noise and light.Migraine-Kranit® can help in such cases by relieving the pain during an acute migraine attack and combating mild to moderate headaches.

Area of application

This medicine is used for the acute treatment of headaches associated with migraine attacks, both with and without aura, and with mild to moderate pain.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

Each suppository contains 500 mg of the active ingredient phenazone.Hard fat is included as an auxiliary ingredient.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to phenazone, pyrazolone or phenylbutazone or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also not permitted in cases of genetically determined glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, acute hepatic porphyria, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.The medicine is not suitable for infants and children under 12 years of age and there is no information available for this age group.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for adults and adolescents over 15 years of age for the acute treatment of headaches in migraine attacks is 2 suppositories (equivalent to 1000 mg Phenazone), possibly several times a day at intervals of 4 to 8 hours.The maximum total daily dose should not exceed 8 suppositories.For mild to moderate pain, 1 to 2 suppositories (corresponding to 500 mg to 1000 mg Phenazone) can be used, also several times a day at intervals of 4 to 8 hours.Here too, the maximum total daily dose should not exceed 8 suppositories.

In old age, with reduced general health and with impaired creatinine clearance or liver function, the dose should be reduced as the excretion of metabolic products may be delayed.In these cases, the total daily dose should not exceed 3 suppositories (corresponding to 1500 mg Phenazone).

Medicines containing phenazone should not be taken for longer than 3 to 4 days without medical or dental advice.

No prescription is required for this product.

Intake

If possible, the suppositories are inserted deep into the anus after a bowel movement.To improve lubrication, you can warm the suppositories in your hand or briefly dip them in hot water.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.Patients with known allergies or certain diseases with a possible allergic cause should only use the medicine under medical supervision.This particularly affects patients with bronchial asthma, chronic inflammation of the airways, pain and rheumatism allergy, allergy to other medicines, foods, preservatives, alcoholic beverages, fur or hair dyes.

In older people and in patients with acute liver damage, the dosage should be based on the lower recommended limit, as the effect of the drug is stronger and lasts longer.

There are no special requirements regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Since there is no experience with the use of the drug during pregnancy and the active ingredient passes into breast milk, the drug must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

If you have pain or fever, do not use it for longer than prescribed in the package leaflet without medical advice!
