Ibu-LysinHEXAL® 400 mg film-coated tablets are a means of relieving mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, toothaches, period pains and back pain.It can also be used in the acute headache phase of migraine with or without aura.It also helps with fever, pain and inflammation, such as those that occur with arthritis.In children weighing 20 kg or more (around 6 years) and adolescents, it can also be used for a sore throat associated with a cold.

Mode of action

The active ingredient in Ibu-LysinHEXAL® 400 mg film-coated tablets is ibuprofen-DL-lysine.This active ingredient prevents the body's production of prostaglandins, thereby alleviating pain and inflammatory reactions.Ibuprofen therefore has an anti-inflammatory, decongestant and pain-relieving effect.It can also have an antipyretic effect via the temperature control center in the brain.

Ibu-LysinHEXAL® 400 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient ibuprofen-DL-lysine.One film-coated tablet contains 684 mg ibuprofen-DL-lysine (1:1), which corresponds to 400 mg ibuprofen.In addition, the tablet core contains microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, talc, colloidal silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate (vegetable).The film coating consists of hypromellose, macrogol 6000 and glycerol 85%.No prescription is required for this product.

Contraindications

Ibu-LysinHEXAL® 400 mg film-coated tablets should not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.The drug should also not be used if you have asthma attacks, nasal mucous membrane swelling or skin reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.It is also not applicable in the case of unexplained hematopoietic disorders, existing or recurrent gastro-duodenal ulcers or bleeding, a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation in connection with previous therapy with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAR), cerebral hemorrhages or other active bleeding, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe heart failure (heart failure) or a disease of theCoronary arteries (coronary artery disease).The product must also not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy or if you have recently lost a lot of fluid (due to vomiting, diarrhea or lack of drinking).It is not suitable for children weighing less than 20 kg.

Dosage

Adults can start with a starting dose of 200 mg or 400 mg ibuprofen (½ or 1 tablet).If necessary, an additional 200 mg or 400 mg ibuprofen can be taken (½ or 1 tablet), however the total dose of 1200 mg ibuprofen (3 tablets) should not be exceeded within 24 hours.The interval between each dose should not be less than 6 hours.For children weighing 20 kg or more (around 6 years of age) and adolescents, the maximum total daily dose is 30 mg per kg of body weight, divided into 3 to 4 individual doses.The interval between individual doses should also not be less than 6 hours.The recommended maximum daily dose should not be exceeded.

The following dosage guidelines apply to children and adolescents: With a body weight of 20 - 29 kg, the single dose is 200 mg (½ tablet), the maximum daily dose is 600 mg (1 ½ tablets).With a body weight of 30 - 39 kg, the single dose is 200 mg (½ tablet), the maximum daily dose is 800 mg (2 tablets).For a body weight of 40 kg or more, the single dose is 200 - 400 mg (½ - 1 tablet), the maximum daily dose is 1200 mg (3 tablets).

The film-coated tablets should be taken with water.If you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the tablets with meals.The smallest effective amount should be used for the shortest time necessary to control symptoms.If taking Ibu-LysinHEXAL® 400 mg film-coated tablets is necessary for more than 3 days for migraine headaches or fever or for more than 4 days to treat pain, or if the symptoms worsen, a doctor should be consulted.In the event of an overdose, medical attention should be sought immediately.

Intake

The film-coated tablets are intended to be taken orally and should be swallowed with water.If you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the product during meals.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the preparation if certain congenital blood formation disorders, autoimmune diseases, gastrointestinal disorders or chronic inflammatory bowel diseases are present.Care should also be taken in cases of impaired kidney or liver function, dehydration, high blood pressure, heart muscle weakness, allergies, chronic mucous membrane swelling or chronic respiratory diseases.Caution is also advised in the case of blood clotting disorders or immediately after major surgical procedures.Side effects can be reduced by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary to control symptoms.If used for a long time, regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.The preparation can impair fertility in women; this effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug.Simultaneous use with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAR) should be avoided.Older patients are more likely to experience side effects, particularly bleeding and perforation in the gastrointestinal tract, which can be fatal.Gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers and perforations may occur during treatment and are associated with a higher risk with increasing NSAR-doses, with previous ulcers or bleeding, and in older patients.Medicines like this may be associated with a small increased risk of heart attack or stroke.Serious skin reactions that can be fatal have been reported very rarely.At the first appearance of a skin rash or other signs of a hypersensitivity reaction, stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.Use should be avoided during chickenpox infection.Severe acute hypersensitivity reactions have been observed in very rare cases.Drink enough fluids, especially in case of fever, diarrhea or vomiting.Long-term use of painkillers may cause headaches, which should not be treated with increased doses. NSAR can mask the signs of infection and fever.Since side effects such as tiredness, dizziness and visual disturbances can occur during use, the ability to drive a motor vehicle or operate machines may be restricted in individual cases.This is especially true if you drink alcohol at the same time.

Pregnancy

If pregnancy is detected while using the product, the doctor should be notified.In the first 6 months of pregnancy, ibuprofen may only be taken after consulting a doctor.The preparation must not be taken in the last 3 months of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.The active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products only pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since adverse consequences for the infant have not yet been reported, it is generally not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding if the recommended dose is used for a short period of time.

Ibu-LysinHEXAL® 400 mg film-coated tablets should not be taken for longer than 3-4 days without medical or dental advice.The product must not be used in children weighing less than 20 kg.It should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in a dry place at room temperature.If you experience severe pain in the upper abdomen, blood in your stools or vomiting blood, you must stop taking the medicine immediately and consult a doctor.If you have vision problems, you should inform your doctor immediately and stop taking the medicine.If signs of infection appear or worsen while using the medicine, a doctor should be consulted immediately.If taken for a long time, regular monitoring of lether levels, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.Severe general hypersensitivity reactions may occur and require immediate medical attention.
