The preparation is a herbal medicine for use in cases of inner restlessness and nervous-related problems falling asleep.

Mode of action

The three plant-based active ingredients in Kytta-Sedativum® dragees ensure a triple effect: hops make it easier to fall asleep, valerian calms and promotes staying asleep, and passionflower relaxes and helps you start the day fresh after a restful sleep.This remedy is therefore particularly suitable for those who have difficulty falling asleep or have problems staying asleep.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to valerian, hops, passionflower or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:

For the treatment of restlessness: Children from 3 years of age take 1 tablet 1 - 2 times a day, adults and children over 12 years take 1 tablet up to 3 times a day.

For the treatment of nervous-related problems falling asleep: Children aged 3 and over and adults take 1 tablet 1/2 to 1 hour before going to bed.If necessary, an additional tablet can be taken earlier in the evening.

It is not intended for use in children under 3 years of age.

For people who suffer from kidney or liver disease: There is no sufficient data to provide specific dosage recommendations for impaired kidney/liver function.

Due to the gradual onset of effects, the preparation is not suitable for the acute treatment of restlessness and difficulty falling asleep.In order to achieve optimal treatment success, it is recommended that you use it continuously for 2 - 4 weeks.

If symptoms do not improve or worsen after two weeks of continuous use of the drug, a doctor should be consulted.

If you accidentally take 1 or 2 tablets more than intended, this usually has no adverse consequences.In this case, continue taking it as described in the dosage instructions or as prescribed by your doctor.If you have significantly overdosed on this medicine, you should consult a doctor.

In an individual case, taking valerian root in a dosage of over 20 g led to the following symptoms: fatigue, abdominal cramps, tightness in the chest, feeling of emptiness in the head, trembling of the hands and dilation of the pupils.

Do not take a double dose if you forget the previous dose, but continue with the next dose.

Interrupting or prematurely ending treatment is harmless.

Intake

The dragees are taken whole with plenty of liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water).

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the preparation in children under 3 years of age, as there are no sufficient studies available.It should therefore not be used in children under 3 years of age.Caution is also advised for people who suffer from kidney or liver disease.

Even when used as directed, the medicine can impair the ability to drive and operate machines.In this case, you are not allowed to drive motor vehicles, operate machines or carry out other dangerous activities.This is especially true when combined with alcohol.

Pregnancy

The safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been adequately studied.Taking the drug is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

If the symptoms persist after 1-2 weeks of use, you should definitely consult a doctor, as restlessness and sleep disorders can also be signs of serious illnesses.

The medicine should not be used up to 2 hours before actively participating in road traffic, operating machines or working without stopping, as the ability to react can be impaired even when used as intended.This is especially true when combined with alcohol.

Application

Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults take 1 Kytta-Sedativum® dragee whole with plenty of liquid up to 3 times a day to treat restlessness;To treat nervous-related problems falling asleep, take 1 Kytta-Sedativum® dragee ½ to 1 hour before going to bed.If necessary, an additional Kytta-Sedativum® dragee can be taken earlier in the evening.

Children between the ages of 3 and 11 may take a maximum of 2 Kytta-Sedativum® dragees per day.To treat restlessness: take 1 Kytta-Sedativum® dragee 1 - 2 times a day.To treat nervous-related problems falling asleep: take 1 Kytta-Sedativum® dragee ½ to 1 hour before going to bed.If necessary, an additional Kytta-Sedativum® dragee can be taken earlier in the evening.

Children under 3 years of age: Not intended for use in children under 3 years of age.

You should not drink alcohol while using this medicine.Medicines with a sleep-inducing effect can generally change the ability to react, even when used as intended;This applies to an even greater extent when combined with alcohol.

The use of Kytta-Sedativum® dragees up to 2 hours before active participation in road traffic, operating machines or working without a secure hold is not recommended, as the ability to react can be impaired even when used as intended.This is especially true when combined with alcohol.

Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
