Instructions for use for Simagel chewable tablets, 20 pcs
Simagel®
Simagel® chewable tablets are used to bind excess stomach acid and treat various related complaints. These include heartburn, acid-related stomach problems, and stomach and duodenal ulcers. No prescription is required for this product.
Mode of action
The active ingredient almasilate in Simagel® chewable tablets binds and neutralizes excess stomach acid.Almasilate forms poorly soluble salts with stomach acid, which are excreted in the stool. This prevents overacidification of the stomach.
Active ingredients and ingredients
Each chewable tablet contains 430 mg of almasilate as the active ingredient. The excipients include potato starch, sucrose, magnesium stearate (vegetable), levomenthol, mint oil, saccharin sodium and sodium ions.
Area of application
Simagel® chewable tablets are used to treat heartburn, acid-related stomach problems and stomach and duodenal ulcers. They help to bind excess stomach acid and relieve the associated symptoms.
Dosage
Adults can take 1-2 chewable tablets several times a day if necessary. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 14 chewable tablets. The tablets should be taken between meals and before going to bed and chewed thoroughly.Other medications should be taken 1-2 hours before or after taking Simagel®.
Contraindications
Simagel® chewable tablets should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients or in children under 12 years of age.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are intolerance to certain sugars or have impaired kidney function, you should consult a doctor before taking it.
Intake
The chewable tablets are taken several times a day between meals and before going to bed. They should be chewed well and then a glass of water can be drunk.Other medicines should generally be taken 1 to 2 hours before or after taking Simagel®.
Patient information
If stomach problems persist or recur, you should be examined by a doctor as this may indicate a serious illness. If you have stomach or duodenal ulcers, you should be tested for Helicobacter pylori.Patients with impaired kidney function should have their aluminum and magnesium levels checked regularly.
Pregnancy
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before taking Simagel®.The benefit-risk ratio should be carefully considered and the drug should only be used short-term and in low doses to avoid aluminum exposure to the child.
Notes
Simagel® chewable tablets contain sucrose, levomenthol, mint oil and sodium. If symptoms persist for a long time, medical advice should be sought. The expiry date on the pack should be noted.
Other
Some of the aluminum and magnesium are absorbed and excreted through the kidneys. If kidney function is impaired and high amounts are consumed over the long term, an excess of magnesium or aluminum retention can occur. In such cases, regular checks of the aluminum mirrors are necessary.
