Simagel (pack size: 50) chewable tablets are used to treat heartburn and acid-related stomach complaints as well as stomach and duodenal ulcers. The active ingredient almasilate binds and neutralises excess stomach acid. The active ingredient forms sparingly soluble salts with stomach acid, which are excreted in the stool. As a result, Simagel has an acid-binding effect and reduces the risk of ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract. The recommended dose for adolescents 12 years and older and adults is 1-2 chewable tablets 1-7 times daily between meals and before bedtime. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 14 chewable tablets. The chewable tablets should be chewed well and then taken with water. Other medicines should ideally be taken 1 to 2 hours before or after taking Simagel. Simagel should not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients or have a phosphate deficiency. If you have impaired kidney function, you should consult a doctor before taking Simagel. As a rule, Simagel is not used in children under 12 years of age. Possible side effects of Simagel are gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, soft stools, constipation and flatulence. Prolonged use of high doses may also cause phosphate deficiency, increased aluminium and magnesium levels. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should consult a doctor before taking Simagel. Simagel is usually well tolerated, but it may mask symptoms that indicate a serious condition. It is recommended to consult a doctor before taking it if symptoms persist for a long time. Simagel chewable tablets contain 430 mg almasilate and other excipients such as potato starch, levomenthol, mint oil, saccharin sodium and sucrose.
