Area of application

This medicine is used to treat fungal skin diseases.It is used for various types of fungal infections (mycoses) caused by dermatophytes, yeasts such as Candida species, molds and other fungal species such as Malassezia furfur.These include fungal infections of the feet, skin and skin folds as well as pityriasis versicolor.It can also be used for superficial yeast infections (candidiasis).

The solution contains 10 mg of clotrimazole as the active ingredient.Isopropyl alcohol, macrogol 400 and propylene glycol are included as excipients.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to clotrimazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described or exactly as discussed with your doctor or pharmacist.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.The recommended dose is to apply the solution for use on the skin thinly to the affected skin areas 2 to 3 times a day.A few drops are usually enough for an area about the size of your palm.

The duration of treatment depends on the type of disease and varies.For the treatment to be successful, it is important to use the solution regularly and for a sufficiently long period of time.In order to achieve complete healing, you should carry out the treatment for at least 4 weeks, even if you have the impression that the acute inflammation has passed and your symptoms have subsided.Pityriasis versicolor generally heals in 1-3 weeks.If you have fungal infections on your feet, you should continue to use the solution for about 2 weeks, even if your symptoms subside or disappear after just a few days.

If you use more solution than you should, no cases of overdose have been reported.Do not use a double dose if you forget the previous dose.If treatment is not long enough, the fungal disease can spread or recur (relapse).

Intake

To use on the skin, gently rub the solution into the skin.If you are treating athlete's foot with the solution, the feet should be dried thoroughly after each washing, especially the spaces between the toes.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine.If you are known to be hypersensitive to macrogol (polyethylene glycol) and propylene glycol or sensitive to 2-propanol (isopropanol), it is recommended to use a dosage form (e.g. cream) that does not contain the ingredients mentioned instead of the solution.Due to the propylene glycol content, it should not be used on mucous membranes as local irritation is possible.The solution must not get into the eyes.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.If you use the medicine as described or recommended by your doctor or pharmacist, only a very small amount of the active ingredient clotrimazole will be absorbed into the body;A systemic effect (effect on other organs) is therefore not to be expected.There are no studies on the use of the solution during pregnancy.The solution should not be used on the lactating breast during breastfeeding.
