Folic acid Hevert 5 mg contains the following ingredients: An ampoule with a volume of 2 ml contains 5 mg of folic acid as the active ingredient.It also contains sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and water for injections.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Dosage

The dosage of folic acid Hevert 5 mg depends on individual needs and should ideally be coordinated with a doctor.To treat severe folic acid deficiency, one ampoule is injected intravenously or intramuscularly every day.For prevention, an ampoule can be injected one to three times a week as needed.The duration of treatment depends on the extent of the folic acid deficiency and is determined by the doctor.

Patient information

Before starting therapy for life-threatening megaloblastic anemia, a possible vitamin B12 deficiency must be ruled out in order to avoid permanent damage to the nervous system.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

There are no known risks for doses of up to 5 mg folic acid per day.
