Areas of application

Zinc oxide has a covering, protective effect and binds secretions in acute and subacute skin diseases.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The suspension contains 250 mg zinc oxide as an active ingredient.Excipients include 150 mg nonionic hydrophilic cream, 9 mg ethanol 90% (v/v), 50 mg glycerol 85%, purified water, 0.7 mg methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and 0.3 mg propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate.

Other ingredients are (2-ethylhexyl) alkanoate (C10 - C16), glycerol 85%, non-ionic emulsifying alkanols (mixture of cetostearyl alcohol, macrogol 80-cetyl stearyl ether and glycerol monostearate), potassium sorbate (Ph. Eur.), citric acid and purified water.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if you are hypersensitive to zinc or other components of the suspension or on more than 20% of the body surface.

Precautions and warnings

Application to skin areas over 20% of the body surface should be avoided.Potassium sorbate and cetostearyl alcohol can cause localized skin irritation.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

The suspension can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding if the dosage instructions are followed.Large-area use, particularly on the breasts of breastfeeding women, should be avoided.

Interactions

Residues containing zinc oxide should be completely removed before using other dermatic products as their effectiveness may be impaired.

Dosage instructions and application

The suspension should be shaken before use.It should be applied to the affected area of skin 2-3 times a day and allowed to dry.The duration of application is not limited.

Side effects

Rarely, allergic reactions can occur.Occasionally, skin redness, a feeling of tension, signs of drying out, rough skin and acantholic skin changes can occur.In the event of side effects, therapy should be discontinued and a doctor or pharmacist consulted.

Notes on durability

The preparation should no longer be used after the printed expiry date has expired.After opening it can be used for 3 months.It should be tightly closed and not stored above 25°C.Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.Residual suspension should be washed off and not rubbed off to avoid mechanical irritation of the skin.

The suspension is available in original packs of 100 g (N2) or 200 g (N3).
