Directions for use of the article Imazol Creme Plus: Imazol Creme Plus is used to treat fungal infections of the skin that can be treated with clotrimazole and are accompanied by a bacterial superinfection. This concerns, for example, fungal infections between the toes or fingers (interdigital mycoses). The medicine contains the active ingredients clotrimazole and hexamidine diisethionate, which inhibit the growth and reproduction of fungi and kill bacteria. A reliable diagnosis of a fungal disease can only be made by a doctor. Imazol Creme Plus must not be used if there is an allergy to clotrimazole, hexamidine diisethionate or related active ingredients, or on the glans penis (the head of the penis). A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before use if the medicine is to be used around the eyes or at the first sign of local or general hypersensitivity or local irritation. The medicinal product should not be used under airtight conditions (e.g. plasters, nappies). It is important to apply the cream regularly and for a sufficiently long period of time. The duration of application depends on the type of complaints and/or the course of the disease and should be continued for at least another 3 weeks after the symptoms have subsided. Imazol Creme Plus in combination with certain antibiotics may reduce the effectiveness of these antibiotics. Before applying deodorants or other cosmetics to the affected areas of the skin, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted as this may reduce the effectiveness of Imazol Creme Plus. The medicinal product may only be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding if this has been expressly ordered by a doctor. Breast-feeding mothers should not apply Imazol Creme Plus on or around the breast to avoid direct contact of the infant with the medicine. The cream should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas and rubbed in. The exact duration and frequency of use may vary depending on the doctor's individual prescription. Side effects are rare and may include redness, burning, stinging, allergic contact dermatitis, allergic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, eczema, scrotal oedema, genital erythema, skin burning, rash, urticaria and pruritus. If side effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. The medicinal product must be kept out of the reach of children and must not be used after the expiry date.
