Directions for use of the article Reducto Spezial Coated Tablets Reducto-spezial is a urological/mineral deficiency treatment. It is used for the treatment and prevention of calcium oxalate stone disease (kidney stone disease) and for the treatment of hypophosphataemia (low phosphate levels in the blood) which cannot be corrected by an appropriate diet. Reducto-spezial must not be taken in the case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the other ingredients, in the case of urinary tract infections with urea-splitting bacteria, in the case of pH values above 6.6 (renal tubular acidosis), in the presence of struvite stones, in the case of severely impaired kidney function, in the case of gastrointestinal disorders, in the case of diseases with a significant increase in the blood sodium level. In the treatment of kidney stone disease, no simultaneous treatment with vitamin D-containing preparations should take place. Reducto-spezial is not suitable for patients with reduced phosphate absorption via the gastrointestinal tract. During treatment, urine tests should be carried out regularly and further diagnostics are required if a urinary tract infection is suspected. Additional blood tests are necessary for long-term therapy. The dosage of Reducto-spezial depends on the treatment and prevention of the kidney stone disease and hypophosphataemia. A reduced dosage is recommended for children. In case of impaired kidney function, a dose reduction may be necessary. The tablets must be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid with meals. The duration of treatment is determined individually by the attending physician. Medical advice should be sought if large amounts of Reducto-spezial are taken. If you forget to take the medicine, do not take a double dose. Interrupting or prematurely stopping the treatment may impair the success of the treatment. Side effects of Reducto-spezial may include discomfort in the gastrointestinal area (feeling of pressure and fullness) and even diarrhoea. It is recommended that you inform your doctor or pharmacist in the event of significant adverse effects or the occurrence of side effects. Reducto-spezial should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date. No special storage conditions are required.
