Active ingredient

Dolormin® painkillers contain the active ingredient ibuprofen in an amount of 200 mg per film-coated tablet.Ibuprofen belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and can relieve pain, fever and inflammation.By combining it with the body's own building block lysine, ibuprofen dissolves better in the stomach and is absorbed more quickly by the body, quickly relieving pain.

Dolormin® pain tablets are a pain-relieving, fever-reducing and anti-inflammatory medicine.It is used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches and period pains as well as fever.The drug is suitable for children weighing more than 20 kg (from 6 years old), teenagers and adults.

Mode of action

The active ingredient ibuprofen in Dolormin® painkillers inhibits the production of the body's own messenger substances prostaglandins, which play a crucial role in inflammatory reactions and the mediation of pain.This reduces pain, fever and inflammation.

One film-coated tablet of Dolormin® painkillers contains 200 mg ibuprofen as ibuprofen-DL-lysine (1:1).The other ingredients include microcrystalline cellulose, povidone (K 30), magnesium stearate (vegetable), titanium dioxide, hydroxypropyl cellulose and hypromellose.

Contraindications

Dolormin® painkillers must not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, if you have asthma attacks, swelling of the nasal mucosa or skin reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, if you have existing or developed stomach or intestinal ulcers, stomach or intestinal bleeding, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe, uncontrolled heart problems, in the last 3 months of pregnancy and in children under 20 kg (6 years).

Dosage

The dosage of Dolormin® painkillers depends on the patient's body weight and age.Children weighing 20 kg or more (6 years and older), teenagers and adults can take the tablets.The recommended single dose is 200 mg ibuprofen (1 film-coated tablet), the maximum daily dose varies depending on weight and age.The dosing interval should not be less than 6 hours.The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms.

Intake

The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water, during or after a meal.If you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the tablets with meals.

Patient information

No prescription is required for this product.If you have pain or fever without medical advice, the medication should not be used for longer than stated in the package leaflet.Elderly patients require particularly careful medical monitoring.Gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers and perforations may occur, particularly at higher doses and in patients with a history of ulcers. NSAR may increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, especially at high doses and prolonged treatment.Skin reactions, which can be serious, have been reported very rarely.At the first signs of skin rashes or other hypersensitivity reactions, the medication should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy, ibuprofen should only be taken after consulting a doctor.The medication must not be taken in the last trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.During breastfeeding, only small amounts of the active ingredient and its breakdown products pass into breast milk, so that if the recommended dose is taken for a short time, it is usually not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding.

Notes

If you experience severe upper abdominal pain, blood in your stool or vomiting blood, you should stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor.If you have vision problems, you should inform your doctor immediately and stop taking the medication. If taken for a long time, regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.Severe hypersensitivity reactions may occur and require immediate medical attention.

Other

Dolormin® painkillers should not be taken for longer than 3 days in children and adolescents and not longer than 3 days in adults in the case of fever and not longer than 4 days in the case of pain.With prolonged use of painkillers, headaches may occur, which may not be treated with increased doses of the medication.Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.
