Mode of action

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, if you have a history of asthma attacks, nasal mucous membrane swelling or skin reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, existing or previously occurring stomach or intestinal ulcers, stomach or intestinal bleeding, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe, uncontrolled heart problems, in the last 3 months of pregnancy and in children under 20 kg (6 years of age), this product may be usednot be applied.

Dosage

Recommended use of Dolormin painkillers with 200 mg ibuprofen: children weighing 20 kg or more (6 years and older), adolescents and adults.Dolormin painkillers are dosed in children and adolescents depending on body weight, usually with 7 to 10 mg/kg body weight as a single dose, up to a maximum of 30 mg/kg body weight as a total daily dose.The respective dosage interval depends on the symptoms and the maximum total daily dose.It should not be less than 6 hours.The recommended dosage should not be exceeded.The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms.This can also reduce side effects.

20 - 29 kg (children between 6 - 9 years): Single dose: 200 mg ibuprofen (1 film-coated tablet).Maximum daily dose: 600 mg ibuprofen (3 film-coated tablets).30 - 39 kg (children between 10 - 11 years): Single dose: 200 mg ibuprofen (1 film-coated tablet).Maximum daily dose: 800 mg ibuprofen (4 film-coated tablets).Over 40 kg (adolescents aged 12 and over and adults): Single dose: 200 - 400 mg ibuprofen (1 - 2 film-coated tablets).Maximum daily dose: 1200 mg ibuprofen (6 film-coated tablets).For short-term use only.

Children and adolescents: If children and adolescents need to take this medicine for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen, medical advice should be sought.Adults: If the medicine is needed for more than 3 days in case of fever and more than 4 days in case of pain, or if symptoms worsen, the patient is advised to consult a doctor.Elderly patients: No special dosage adjustment is required in elderly patients.Because of the possible side effect profile, older people should be monitored particularly carefully.Patients with impaired renal function: No dose reduction is necessary in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment.Patients with impaired liver function: No dose reduction is necessary in patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment.

Intake

Please take the tablets whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water) during or after a meal.For patients who have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the tablets with meals.

Patient information

Gastrointestinal safety: Concomitant use with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including so-called COX-2 inhibitors (cyclooxygenase 2 inhibitors), should be avoided.Side effects can be reduced by taking the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary to control symptoms.Elderly patients: Elderly patients are more likely to experience side effects after using NSAR , especially bleeding and perforations in the stomach and intestines, which can be life-threatening under certain circumstances.Therefore, particularly careful medical monitoring is required in older patients.

Pregnancy

Before taking/using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.Pregnancy: If pregnancy is discovered while taking the medication, the doctor should be notified.You may only take ibuprofen in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy after consulting your doctor.The medicine must not be taken in the last trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.Breastfeeding: The active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products only pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since adverse consequences for the infant have not yet been reported, it is generally not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding if the recommended dose is taken for a short period of time.However, if longer doses of higher doses are prescribed, early discontinuation of breastfeeding should be considered.

Other

- If severe pain occurs in the upper abdomen, blood in the stool or vomiting of blood, the medicine should be stopped immediately and a doctor should be consulted.- If visual disturbances occur, a doctor should be informed immediately and the medicine must no longer be taken.- In individual cases, a worsening of infection-related inflammation (e.g. development of necrotizing fasciitis) has been described in connection with the use of cortisone-free painkillers.This may be related to the mechanism of action of this group of medicines.- Therefore, if signs of infection appear new or worsen while using the drug, it is recommended to consult a doctor immediately.- Since side effects such as tiredness and dizziness can occur when using the drug in larger quantities, the ability to drive a motor vehicle or operate machines may be restricted in individual cases.This applies to an even greater extent when combined with alcohol.- No special precautions are required when using the drug as a painkiller once or for a short time.- Long-term, high-dose, improper use of painkillers can cause headaches, which should not be treated with increased amounts of the drug.- In general, the habitual use of painkillers, especially when taking several painkillers at the same time, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.Therapy monitoring/control measures: - If the drug is taken for a long time, regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.Emergency medical measures: - Severe general hypersensitivity reactions may occur.They can manifest themselves as facial swelling, tongue swelling, inner larynx swelling with narrowing of the airways, shortness of breath, rapid heart rate, drop in blood pressure and even threatening shock.If any of these symptoms occur, which can occur even during the first use, immediate medical attention is required.
