Instructions for use of the article Ichtholan 50% Ointment Information: Contains lanolin and butylated hydroxytoluene. For risks and side effects, read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist. Product characteristics: ICHTHOLAN® 50% ointment is an ointment with the active substance ammonium bituminosulfonate. It has an anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, circulation-increasing and pain-relieving effect. The ointment is used for the maturation of boils, abscessing processes and as a supportive treatment for gonarthrosis, bruises and sprains. The ointment is applied to the area of skin to be treated and covered with a bandage. The dressing should be changed daily. In case of an overdose, the preparation should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted. In case of a forgotten application, a double amount should not be applied and a doctor should be consulted if the application is discontinued. The ointment should be kept out of reach of children and should not be used after the stated expiry date. The medicinal product should not be disposed of in sewage or household waste. Indications for use: Maturation of boils and abscessing processes, supportive treatment in gonarthrosis, contusion and sprain. Dosage and directions for use: Apply a sufficient amount once daily and cover with a dressing. Ointment residues should be removed before each dressing change. The ICHTHOLANduration of application depends on the symptoms and/or the course of the disease. Skin irritation may occur in the event of an overdose. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the ingredients, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Side effects: Only isolated side effects have been observed so far. Composition: 0.5 g ammonium bituminosulfonate, yellow vaseline, microcrystalline hydrocarbons (C40-C60), wool wax, purified water. Mode of action: Ammonium bituminosulfonate fights bacteria directly in the inflamed area, inhibits inflammation and draws pus to the skin surface. Important notes: Caution in case of allergy to shale oil, antioxidants and lanolin alcohols. Interactions with other medicines may occur. Storage: Store away from heat and moisture.
