Instructions for use of the article Mepitel Silicone Mesh Dressing 20x30 cm Sterile: Mepitel is a transparent wound dressing with Safetac technology. It has been specially developed for painful wounds and wounds with sensitive skin, e.g. burns, abrasions, lacerations and chronic wounds. Mepitel is particularly well suited for heavily exuding wounds, in combination with Mextra Superabsorbent as a secondary dressing. The efficacy of Mepitel in the treatment of scalds has been clinically proven. The use of Mepitel results in faster, less painful and less expensive healing compared to silver sulphadiazine. Thanks to the transparency of Mepitel, the healing process can be assessed immediately without the need to remove the dressing. It leaves no residue and retains its functional properties permanently. The dressing can remain on the wound for up to 14 days, resulting in undisturbed healing. Safetac technology minimises trauma and pain during dressing changes and protects against maceration. Mepitel protects both the wound and the surrounding skin. It prevents the secondary dressing from adhering to the wound. Mepitel is suitable for a wide range of wounds, including skin tears, abrasions, surgical wounds, second-degree burns, blistering, lacerations and cuts, skin graft wounds, diabetic ulcers and venous and arterial ulcers.
