Zinc ointment BW is an ointment for external use to support wound healing, especially in the case of weeping or itching wounds and chapped skin. It contains the active ingredient zinc oxide. The ointment should be applied according to the instructions in the package leaflet. As a rule, it is applied once to several times a day to the affected skin areas and covered with a gauze compress or bandage. In principle, the duration of application is not limited. If there are any concerns about the efficacy of the medicine, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. Possible side effects are slight burning or intolerance reactions of the skin. The medicinal product should be stored away from heat and moisture. A doctor or pharmacist should also be contacted if there are any questions about use during pregnancy or breast-feeding. The ointment must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients.
