Description of the vitamin and mineral preparation
This medicine is a vitamin and mineral supplement specifically designed to support bone health.It is used to prevent and treat vitamin D and calcium deficiency conditions, especially in the elderly.It also supports the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The preparation contains 1500 mg of calcium carbonate, which corresponds to 600 mg of calcium ions.In addition, 4 mg of colecalciferol dry concentrate is included, which corresponds to 400 IE colecalciferol.Excipients include butylated hydroxytoluene, gelatin, magnesium stearate (vegetable), pregelatinized corn starch, mannitol, sodium aluminum silicate, sucrose, colloidal silicon dioxide, modified starch, medium chain triglycerides, Tutti Frutti flavor (77919-31, Givaudan), ethyl acetate, amyl/isoamyl butyrate,Ethyl butyrate, 3-ethoxy-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde, geraniol, isopentyl acetate, maltodextrin, propylene glycol, beta-ionone, allyl hexanoate, xylitol and 1 mmol total sodium ions.
Areas of application
The medicine is used to support specific therapy, prevent and treat osteoporosis.It also helps prevent and treat vitamin D and calcium deficiencies in the elderly.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients.It should also not be used if there are medical conditions that can lead to high calcium concentrations in the blood or urine, if there are kidney stones or if vitamin D levels are too high (hypervitaminosis).
Dosage
Always take the medicine exactly as directed.The usual dose for adults is 1 chewable tablet once or twice daily.Patients with severe kidney impairment should not take the medicine.No dosage adjustment is necessary in cases of liver dysfunction.If you have any questions about dosage, please speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
If you have taken more of the medicine than you should, a one-time overdose will usually have no consequences.Overdose symptoms can occur with long-term, excessive intake and include increased thirst, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, fatigue and increased urine output.If you suspect an overdose, please notify your doctor.
If you forget to take the medicine, do not take a double dose, but stick to the previous dosage.
Intake
The chewable tablets are chewed and swallowed.They can also be sucked.
Patient information
Particular caution is required for certain illnesses.If you have sarcoidosis, calcium levels in your blood and urine should be monitored.During long-term treatment, serum calcium levels must be monitored and renal function monitored.When taking other vitamin D preparations at the same time, the daily dose of up to 800 IE vitamin D should be taken into account.Additional intake of vitamin D-containing preparations should only be taken under medical supervision.Particular caution is required in cases of immobilization osteoporosis or renal dysfunction.The medicine can be harmful to your teeth.
No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
During pregnancy, the daily intake should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 IE vitamin D3.Overdoses of vitamin D must be avoided because persistently elevated blood calcium levels can be harmful to the developing fetus.Calcium and vitamin D3 pass into breast milk, which should be taken into account when giving additional vitamin D3 to the child.

If you have kidney failure, your doctor should check your calcium and phosphate balance.The amount of vitamin D taken should be taken into account when using other vitamin D medications.Since the medicine already contains vitamin D, additional use of vitamin D or calcium may only be carried out under strict medical supervision.In this case, blood and urine calcium levels should be checked weekly.
