Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you have a known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients.It should also not be used if you have medical conditions that may cause high levels of calcium in the blood or urine, if you have kidney stones, or if you have too high levels of vitamin D (hypervitaminosis).

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.The usual dose for adults is 1 chewable tablet once or twice daily, unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor.The medicine must not be taken by patients with severe kidney dysfunction.No dose adjustment is necessary in cases of liver dysfunction.If you think the effect is too strong or too weak, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Intake

The chewable tablets are chewed and swallowed.Alternatively, they can also be sucked.

Particular caution is required when taking the drug if you have a certain lung disease (sarcoidosis), as this may increase the conversion of vitamin D to its active form.During long-term treatment, your doctor should check serum calcium levels and monitor kidney function.This is particularly important in older patients who are taking cardiac glycosides or diuretics.If you are prescribed other vitamin D preparations at the same time, your doctor should take the daily dose into account.Additional intake of other preparations containing vitamin D should only be undertaken under medical supervision.Particular caution is required in cases of immobilization osteoporosis or renal dysfunction.The medicine can be harmful to your teeth.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy, the daily intake should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 IE vitamin D3.Overdoses of vitamin D must be avoided because persistently elevated blood calcium levels can be harmful to the developing fetus.Calcium and vitamin D3 pass into breast milk, which should be taken into account if the child is also given vitamin D3.Before taking/using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
