Active ingredient per bag, 200 mg granules: 200 mg sodium cromoglicate.The other ingredient is sucrose (sugar).

Area of application

Pentatop 200 mg granules is used for food allergies that cannot be treated by avoiding the triggering food.It has an anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effect by stabilizing the mast cells of the immune system and thus reducing the release of allergy-triggering messenger substances.

Contraindications

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: Adults and young people aged 15 and over take the contents of one sachet of the preparation (corresponding to a total of 800 mg sodium cromoglicate) four times a day.Dosage forms with a lower active ingredient content are available for children.If necessary, the dose in adults can be increased to 2 - 3 sachets of the preparation four times daily.However, a daily dose of 10 sachets (corresponding to 2 g of sodium cromoglicate) should not be exceeded.

Intake

The contents of the Pentatop granulate bag are placed in a glass of water, stirred briefly and the solution is then drunk.It should be taken 15-30 minutes before meals.It is recommended to rinse your mouth several times before swallowing in order to achieve a local effect on the oral mucosa.Pentatop granules should be taken at the same intervals as possible, i.e.h.morning, noon, afternoon and evening.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the preparation in the following cases: If you have had a life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock) after eating food in the past, you should definitely avoid eating the food in question during treatment with the preparation.

The use of the preparation cannot currently be recommended for infants in the first two months of life (correspondingly longer for premature babies).The product is not suitable for initial treatment of children.Other dosages (100 mg) are available for this.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

There is no evidence of a teratogenic effect of the preparation either from animal studies or from previous experience with humans.However, for fundamental reasons, you should only use the product during pregnancy if the doctor considers it necessary.

The active ingredient in the preparation passes into breast milk in small quantities.Therefore, you should only use the product during breastfeeding if the doctor considers it necessary.
