ALKALA T tablets contain the active ingredient sodium hydrogen carbonate and are traditionally used as a mild medicine for heartburn and acid-related stomach complaints. ALKALA T is an alkaline preparation that helps to restore the acid-base balance in the body. It is recommended to take one tablet 3 times a day with liquid. It should be taken one to two hours apart from other medicines. It should not be used for more than one week without medical advice. Side effects may include belching, bloating and the formation of kidney stones. The medicine must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, potassium deficiency and acid burns of the stomach. It is also not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use the medicine. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before use.
