ferro sanol® comp is an oral iron/folic acid/vitamin B12 preparation.It is used for iron deficiency conditions, iron deficiency anemia and to prevent a deficiency of vitamin B12 and folic acid.No prescription is required for this product.

The preparation is used to treat iron deficiency conditions and iron deficiency anemia.It also prevents a deficiency of vitamin B12 and folic acid.

One hard capsule contains 170.3 mg iron(II) glycine sulfate complex, which corresponds to 30 mg iron(II) ions.It also contains 0.5 mg folic acid and 2.5 µg vitamin B12.The excipients include, among others, 2-acetyltriethyl citrate, ascorbic acid, carboxymethyl starch, sodium salt, microcrystalline cellulose, citric acid, anhydrous, dextrin, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x-water, iron (III) oxide, Eudragit L 100 - 55, gelatin, hyprolose, hypromellose, lactose 1-water, magnesium stearate, sodium citrate2-Water, sodium dodecyl sulfate, polysorbate 80, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, titanium dioxide and sodium ions.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients.Its intake is also contraindicated if there is a narrowing of the esophagus, a hereditary iron storage disease (hemochromatosis), iron overload, iron utilization disorders or megaloblastic anemia as a result of an isolated vitamin B12 deficiency.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.The usual dose for adults and children aged 6 years and over who weigh at least 20 kg is one hard capsule three times a day.The duration of use is determined by the doctor and can be between three and six months.

If you have taken more medicine than you should, please tell a doctor immediately.In the event of an overdose, the symptoms described under side effects may increase.

If you forget to take the medicine, do not take a double dose.If you accidentally forget to take one or more times, this will extend the total duration of therapy.

If you stop taking the medicine, the success of the treatment is at risk.

Intake

Take the hard capsules whole with enough water.It should be taken either in the morning on an empty stomach, about an hour before breakfast, or at a sufficient interval of about two hours before or after a meal.

If you have problems swallowing or you do not want to swallow the capsule, you can also take the contents of the capsule without the capsule shell.To do this, carefully pull the capsule shells apart over a spoon and collect the capsule contents in the spoon.After taking the pellets and the mini-tablet, you should drink enough water.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the drug if you suffer from existing diseases of the digestive tract.Caution should also be exercised in people with chronic kidney disease and in older people with initially unexplained iron deficiency or anemia.In children, care must be taken that an overdose can lead to poisoning.

Driving and operating machines do not require any special precautions.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, you should only take this medicine as directed by your doctor.

Notes

The preparation contains lactose.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
