Directions for use of the article Aknederm Ointment New: Aknederm Ointment New is a traditional medicine used as a mildly acting remedy for skin blemishes. It contains the active ingredients ammonium bituminosulfonate and zinc oxide. The ointment should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas in the morning and evening. It is recommended not to treat more than 20% of the body surface with it. If skin blemishes persist or inflammation occurs, a doctor should be consulted. The medicine should be used exactly as directed in the package leaflet or after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist. Avoid contact of the ointment with the eyes, mucous membranes, open wounds or damaged skin. No special measures are required in the event of an overdose; excess ointment can simply be removed with water. The medicinal product should be stored in a cool place and used within 6 months after opening. The medicinal product should not be used in case of allergy to the ingredients, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Possible side effects may include reddening of the skin, dry skin, itching, burning or changes in the epidermis. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted in the event of any disturbances of well-being. Before using the medicinal product, information on possible interactions with other medicines should be obtained. Special caution is advised when using in children under 12 years of age.
