Betaisodona solution is a germicidal agent (antiseptic) for use on skin, mucous membranes and wounds. It is used for one-time disinfection of the outer skin or antisepsis of the mucous membrane before operations, biopsies, injections, blood sampling and other medical interventions. It can also be used for antiseptic wound treatment of leg ulcers, burns and infected skin diseases. In addition, it is suitable for surgical hand disinfection. The dosage and instructions for use should be followed exactly. One area of application is the one-time disinfection of the skin or mucous membrane, in which the product is applied undiluted. The exposure times vary depending on the skin type. The remedy can also be used for rinses, washes and baths in different dilutions. The duration of application depends on the symptoms and should be discussed with a doctor. Side effects such as skin reactions may occur. In case of overdose or prolonged use, disturbances of the salt balance and kidney function may occur. The medicine should be stored away from heat.
