Directions for use of the article Clotrimazole AL 1% cream: Clotrimazole AL 1% cream is used for fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes, yeasts (e.g. Candida species), moulds and others, such as Malassezia furfur, as well as infections caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum. These can manifest as mycoses of the feet, mycoses of the skin and skin folds, pityriasis versicolor, erythrasma, superficial candidoses. The cream contains the active ingredient clotrimazole. It is important to use the cream as prescribed in order to achieve the best possible treatment success. The usual dose is a sufficient amount applied thinly and rubbed into the affected areas 2-3 times a day. The duration of treatment depends on the extent and localisation of the disease. To achieve complete healing, the treatment should be continued for at least 4 weeks. Skin reactions such as temporary redness, burning or stinging may occur. Clotrimazole AL 1% must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients or certain other conditions. It should be used with caution during pregnancy and should not be applied to the chest area during breast-feeding.
