Instructions for use for NORTASE Capsules, 200 pcs
NORTASE® - the digestive activator after fatty and hearty meals
NORTASE® supports digestion in cases of discomfort after fatty and hearty meals if these are due to a digestive enzyme deficiency in the pancreas (medically: exocrine pancreatic insufficiency). As a result, the food is not broken down adequately and symptoms such as flatulence, diarrhea, pain and a feeling of fullness arise immediately after eating. NORTASE® contains acid-stable digestive enzymes (rizoenzymes), works in the stomach and supports the main digestion in the intestine - for targeted relief from typical digestive problems.
Advantages of NORTASE® at a glance
NORTASE® addresses the cause of the symptoms and replaces missing digestive enzymes, which leads to an effective reduction in symptoms of pancreatic weakness. It already works in the stomach and further into the intestines, supporting digestion where fatty foods remain for a long time. NORTASE® is vegetarian and acid-stable, which facilitates enzyme replacement therapy for pancreatic insufficiency. It is taken in capsules, without the need for calculation in enzyme units. NORTASE® is suitable for pregnant women, breastfeeding women and children and supports greater well-being in everyday life.
Relieve digestive problems specifically - where they arise
After rich, fatty or hearty meals, unpleasant digestive problems can occur, such as loose stools and even diarrhea, unpleasant-smelling flatulence, (upper) abdominal pain and a feeling of fullness after eating. These symptoms may indicate a lack of digestive enzymes in the pancreas. NORTASE® can alleviate these symptoms by replacing the missing enzymes.Certain groups of people are more often affected by pancreatic weakness, such as people with diabetes mellitus, smokers, people who drink excessive alcohol and older people.
Already works in the stomach - more time for fat digestion
A particular advantage of NORTASE® is that the highly active, acid-stable rhizoenzymes begin to work in the stomach - where fatty foods often linger for a long time.In contrast to the body's own enzymes, NORTASE® also works in the stomach, gives the body more time to digest fat and supplements the main digestion in the intestine. This means that NORTASE® can not only replace the missing enzymes in the intestine, but also support digestion in the stomach.
Addresses the cause - instead of just alleviating symptoms
Unlike purely symptom-oriented products, NORTASE® addresses the cause of digestive problems: the digestive enzyme deficiency. NORTASE® replaces the body's missing digestive enzymes, supports functioning digestion and can be useful at the first signs of digestive weakness. When taken regularly with meals, NORTASE® can help prevent symptoms. NORTASE® gives the body what it needs for a functioning digestion, so that you can enjoy eating again and enjoy your meals in a relaxed manner, for a better quality of life and well-being.
Enzyme treatment for pancreatic weakness for a better quality of life
Bloating, flatulence, diarrhea and stomach pain after eating are symptoms that many people are familiar with. One in ten people with such complaints suffers from a serious dysfunction of the pancreas, which can no longer release enough digestive enzymes to break down food. The result is pancreatic weakness, also known as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency or EPI for short, with symptoms that lead to restrictions in everyday life and quality of life.If exocrine pancreatic insufficiency is the cause or if your pancreas was completely or partially removed during an operation, you can replace the missing digestive enzymes with enzyme replacement preparations such as NORTASE®.No prescription is required for this product.
This is how the rhizoenzymes from NORTASE® work
The pancreas releases important enzymes (lipase, amylase, protease) directly into the small intestine to break down food. These enzymes are able to break down sugars, proteins and fats.Since in exocrine pancreatic insufficiency not enough digestive enzymes are released, these essential enzymes must be supplied from outside. The rhizoenzymes supplied take over the function of the body's own digestive enzymes and not only break down the food in the small intestine, but can also begin digestion in the stomach due to their natural acid stability. This means that an extended window of action is available for the enzymes supplied, which enables full and efficient breakdown and subsequent utilization of important nutrients. Due to the high efficiency of the rhizoenzymes in NORTASE®, successful enzyme replacement therapy is also possible with few enzyme units.
Mode of action
NORTASE® contains a combination of digestive enzymes that support the enzymatic breakdown of food components.Rizolipase (lipase from Rhizopus oryzae) breaks down dietary fats (triglycerides) into smaller components such as fatty acids and monoglycerides that can be absorbed by the body.Protease from Aspergillus oryzae supports the breakdown of proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids, which can then be absorbed.Amylase from Aspergillus oryzae breaks down complex carbohydrates, especially starch, into smaller sugar building blocks that can be further digested and absorbed.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
NORTASE® contains rizoliase (lipase from Rhizopus oryzae), protease and amylase from Aspergillus oryzae, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC), lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, dyes: titanium dioxide E 171, iron (III) oxide E 172.
Contraindications
NORTASE® must not be taken if you suffer from acute pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), in an acute episode of chronic pancreatitis or if you are allergic to mold (mold allergy) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine mentioned.
Dosage
The dosage of NORTASE® is determined by the doctor depending on the severity of the disease. As a guideline, a daily dose of 30,000-100,000 FIP-units of lipase, 200-6,000 units of amylase and 100-300 units of protease can be recommended. For the fat-splitting enzyme lipase, this corresponds to approx. 5-15 hard capsules NORTASE® per day, which should be taken divided into meals (1-3 hard capsules per meal). NORTASE® Hard capsules are swallowed whole with sufficient liquid (water, juice or lukewarm tea) during a meal or snack. If swallowing the capsules is difficult, the capsules can be carefully opened and the contents dissolved in water. This mixture should be swallowed immediately and completely and should not be stored. Then drink enough fluids to ensure complete intake.
Intake
NORTASE® Capsules are swallowed whole with sufficient liquid (water, juice or lukewarm tea) during meals. NORTASE® capsules contain active enzymes that when released in the oral cavity, e.g.B. by chewing, which can lead to damage to the mucous membrane (ulceration of the oral mucosa). It is therefore important to ensure that the capsules are swallowed whole.
Patient information
Particular caution is required when taking NORTASE® in patients with cystic fibrosis, a congenital metabolic disorder in which the formation of narrowings of the ileum/appendix region and the ascending sections of the large intestine has been described in individual cases after administration of high doses of digestive enzymes. If signs of illness similar to intestinal obstruction are present, the possibility of intestinal strictures should also be taken into account. NORTASE® capsules contain active enzymes that when released in the oral cavity, e.g.B. by chewing, which can lead to damage to the mucous membrane (ulceration of the oral mucosa). It is therefore important to ensure that the capsules are swallowed whole. This medicine contains lactose. Please only take NORTASE® after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.Talk to your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if side effects occur. No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy
There are no concerns about taking NORTASE® during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Notes
Contains lactose. Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
Application
The dosage depends on the functional impairment of the pancreas and the resulting symptoms. For snacks, 1 capsule is usually sufficient; for main meals, 2-3 capsules should be taken. NORTASE® is swallowed whole with sufficient liquid (water, juice or lukewarm tea) during a meal or snack. If the symptoms persist, it may be necessary to adjust the amount of capsules due to individual factors (e.g. additional illnesses). This should be coordinated with the treating doctor. The duration of use is determined by the treating doctor depending on the need for treatment of the disease. There is no fundamental restriction on the duration of treatment.
