Description

Pantozol Control is a medicine that contains the active ingredient pantoprazole.It is available as yellow, oval, enteric-coated tablets (20 mg).Enteric-coated means that the tablet contents pass completely through the stomach and are only released in the intestines.This prevents the active ingredient from being destroyed by stomach acid.The product contains deoiled phospholipids from soybeans.

Area of application

Pantozol Control is used for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms in adults.Reflux is the backflow of stomach acid into the esophagus, causing heartburn and acid reflux (backflow of acid into the mouth).The active ingredient pantoprazole blocks the release of acid in the stomach.Thanks to its long-lasting effect, taking one Pantozol Control tablet a day is usually enough.

One tablet of Pantozol Control contains 20 mg of pantoprazole.Other ingredients are sodium carbonate, mannitol, crospovidone, povidone K90, calcium palmitate, calcium stearate, hypromellose, povidone K25, titanium dioxide, black iron(III)hydroxide oxide, propylene glycol, Eudragit ® L 100-55, sodium dodecyl sulfate, polysorbate 80, triethyl citrate, iron(III)oxide hydrate and printing ink conc.Ammonia solution.

Contraindications

Pantozol Control must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient pantoprazole, to soy or to any of the other components of the drug.It must also not be taken at the same time as atazanavir or other proton pump inhibitors or H2 antagonists.It is also not permitted for children and adolescents under 18 years of age or during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Pantozol Control may only be taken after consulting a doctor if you have repeatedly suffered from indigestion and heartburn over a long period of time, have already undergone stomach surgery or had a stomach ulcer removed, regularly visit your doctor because of severe symptoms or serious illnesses, or are about to have a planned endoscopy or a breathing test, called a C-urea breath test.

Dosage

The recommended dose of Pantozol Control is one tablet daily.One tablet is taken whole with sufficient liquid.The treatment can be continued for another 2-3 days until complete relief is achieved.If relief has not been achieved after 2 weeks, a doctor must be consulted.Due to its special mode of action, Pantozol Control is not suitable for providing immediate relief of symptoms.

Intake

Take the tablet at the same time every day before a meal.Swallow the tablet whole with a little water.Do not bite or break the tablet.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine if you have had treatment for heartburn or indigestion for 4 weeks or longer, are over 55 years of age and are treating indigestion with non-prescription medicines on a daily basis, are over 55 years of age and have new or recently changed reflux symptoms, have had a stomach ulcer or gastric operation in the past, have liver problems or jaundice, take your medicine regularly because of severe symptoms or serious medical conditionsIf you are planning to have an endoscopy or a breath test called a 13C-urea breath test, are planning to have a certain blood test (chromogranin A), or have ever experienced skin reactions as a result of treatment with a medicine similar to the preparation that also reduces stomach acid.

Do not take this medicine for more than 4 weeks without consulting your doctor.Talk to your doctor if reflux symptoms have not gone away after 2 weeks.Long-term use of this medicine carries additional risks, such as reduced absorption of vitamin B12 and vitamin B12 deficiency, hip, wrist or spine fractures, and falling magnesium levels in the blood.

Tell your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following symptoms, which could be a sign of another, more serious condition, such as unintentional weight loss, vomiting, especially with repeated vomiting, vomiting of blood, blood in the stool, difficulty swallowing or pain when swallowing, paleness and weakness, chest pain, stomach pain, severe and/or persistent diarrhea, or rash.

Children and adolescents should not take the medicine because there is a lack of safety information for this younger age group.If side effects such as dizziness or blurred vision occur, you should not drive or operate machines.

Pregnancy

Notes

Due to its special mode of action, Pantozol Control is not suitable for providing immediate relief of symptoms.Do not take Pantozol Control as a preventive measure.No prescription is required for this product.
