PANTOZOL Control 20mg is used for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux in adults.It is a medicine that contains the active ingredient pantoprazole and is available in the form of yellow, oval, gastro-resistant tablets.Enteric-coated means that the tablet contents pass completely through the stomach and are only released in the intestines, which protects the active ingredient from stomach acid.

Mode of action

The active ingredient pantoprazole in PANTOZOL Control 20mg is a proton pump inhibitor.It blocks the proton pumps in specialized cells in the stomach lining that are responsible for acid production.Blocking these pumps reduces acid production, resulting in relief from acid reflux symptoms.Thanks to its long-lasting effect, taking one tablet PANTOZOL Control 20mg a day is usually enough.

Active ingredients and ingredients

One tablet PANTOZOL Control 20mg contains 20 mg of pantoprazole and the following other ingredients: sodium carbonate, mannitol, crospovidone, povidone K90, calcium palmitate, calcium stearate, hypromellose, povidone K25, titanium dioxide, black iron(III)hydroxide oxide, propylene glycol, Eudragit® L 100-55, sodium dodecyl sulfate, polysorbate80, triethyl citrate, iron(III)oxide hydrate and printing ink conc.Ammonia solution.The medicine also contains deoiled phospholipids from soybeans.

Contraindications

PANTOZOL Control 20mg must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient pantoprazole, to soy or to any of the other components of the drug.It must also not be used at the same time as atazanavir, a medicine used to treat HIV.The use of PANTOZOL Control 20mg is also not permitted if you are taking other proton pump inhibitors or H2 antagonists at the same time.The medicine should not be taken by children and adolescents under the age of 18 or during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Before taking PANTOZOL Control 20mg, a doctor should be consulted if you have repeated and prolonged indigestion and heartburn, have had stomach surgery or had a stomach ulcer removed, regularly visit your doctor because of severe symptoms or serious medical conditions, or are about to have a scheduled endoscopy or a breathing test called a C-urea breath test.

Dosage and intake

The recommended dose of PANTOZOL Control 20mg is one tablet daily.The tablet should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid.The treatment can be continued for another 2-3 days until complete relief is achieved.If relief has not been achieved after 2 weeks, a doctor must be consulted.Due to its special mode of action, PANTOZOL Control 20mg is not suitable for providing immediate relief of symptoms.

Take the tablet at the same time every day before a meal.Swallow the tablet whole with a little water.Do not bite or break the tablet.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor before taking the medicine if you have had treatment for heartburn or indigestion for 4 weeks or longer, are over 55 years of age and are treating indigestion with non-prescription medicines on a daily basis, are over 55 years of age and have new or recently changed reflux symptoms, have had a stomach ulcer or gastric operation in the past, have liver problems or jaundice, have or are planning to see your doctor regularly for severe symptoms or serious medical conditionsis that you will have an endoscopy or a breathing test called a 13C-urea breath test.

Tell your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following symptoms, which could be a sign of another, more serious condition: unintentional weight loss, vomiting, especially with repeated vomiting, vomiting of blood, blood in the stool, difficulty swallowing or pain when swallowing, paleness and weakness, chest pain, stomach pain, or severe and/or persistent diarrhea.

Before a scheduled blood test, tell your doctor that you are taking this medicine.After just one day of treatment with the medicine, your symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn may be relieved, but this medicine does not have to provide immediate relief.You should not take it as a preventive measure. If you suffer from recurrent heartburn or indigestion over a long period of time, remember to see your doctor regularly.

If side effects such as dizziness or blurred vision occur, you should not drive or operate machines.

Pregnancy

You should not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Notes

Due to its specific mode of action, PANTOZOL Control 20mg is not suitable for providing immediate symptom relief.Do not take PANTOZOL Control 20mg preventatively.
