Instructions for use of the article Senna leaves laxative tea Important information: Senna leaf tea is a herbal stimulant laxative for short-term use in constipation. Read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist. Directions for use: - Laxative tea Medicinal tea - Contents: 20 g senna leaves - Method of use: Tea for drinking after preparation of a tea infusion. - Indications: For short-term use in constipation. Contraindications: - Not suitable in cases of intestinal obstruction, acute inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal pain of unknown cause and severe fluid deficiency. - Not suitable for children under 10 years of age - Not suitable during pregnancy and lactation Precautions and warnings: - Long-term use may lead to increased intestinal sluggishness - Avoid prolonged skin contact with faeces in incontinent adults - May interact with certain medicinal products Dosage and directions for use: - Adults and children from 10 years of age drink 1 cup of tea infusion twice daily. - Adjust dosage individually to obtain soft-formed stools. - Drink the tea infusion before going to bed. The effect is felt after 8-12 hours. - Do not use for longer than 1-2 weeks Side effects: - In individual cases, cramp-like gastrointestinal complaints may occur. - Possible side effects with chronic use or abuse: loss of electrolytes, excretion of protein and red blood cells in the urine, pigment deposition in the intestinal mucosa Composition: - Active substance: senna leaves (1 g).
