Uzara 40 mg/ml oral solution is a herbal medicinal product for the treatment of non-specific acute diarrhoea. It contains Uzara root dry extract as the active substance. The dosage for adults and children over 12 years of age is 5 ml of liquid (corresponding to 200 mg of dry extract) on the first day of treatment and 1 ml of liquid (corresponding to 120-240 mg of dry extract per day) 3 to 6 times a day on subsequent days. A maximum daily dose of 6 ml of liquid should not be exceeded. The duration of use should not exceed 7 days. It is important to additionally pay attention to fluid and electrolyte balance in diarrhoeal diseases. Uzara is well tolerated and acts quickly and gently against diarrhoea. It should not be used in case of allergy to the ingredients, disturbances of the salt balance and conduction disorders of the heart. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should refrain from using it. Adverse effects may include gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. It should be used with caution in case of allergy to complexing agents and alcoholism. The medicinal product should be kept out of the reach of children and used for 18 months after opening.
