Kohl-Compretten® tablets offer quick and reliable support for acute diarrhea and oral poisoning.The medicinal charcoal in the tablets has a large surface area to which bacteria and toxins bind in order to transport them out of the intestines.Since the activated charcoal is not absorbed by the body, the tablets are also suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

The tablets are effective for acute diarrhea and help with poisoning by preventing the absorption of toxins and accelerating their excretion.They are effective in poisoning with substances that undergo enterohepatic circulation, such as carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenylbutazone and theophylline.

Mode of action

In the case of diarrhea, the Kohl-Compretten® tablets bind water and solidify the stool.In the event of poisoning, the toxins are bound, preventing their absorption and accelerating excretion.This leads to a rapid improvement in symptoms and a restoration of well-being.

Each tablet contains 250 mg of medicinal charcoal as the active ingredient.Bentonite, corn starch and 0.006 BE carbohydrates are included as excipients.The tablets also contain sucrose and lactose.

Contraindications

Kohl-Compretten® tablets should not be taken in cases of feverish diarrhea or poisoning with corrosive substances such as strong acids and alkalis, as specific diagnostic measures are required in these cases.

Dosage

Adults take 2-4 tablets 3-4 times a day for diarrhea.Children are given half this dosage.The tablets can be mixed with water or swallowed whole with liquid.In case of poisoning, adults take 2-4 tablets per kilogram of body weight, children take 3-4 tablets per kilogram of body weight.The tablets are suspended in water to form a paste and drunk in small sips.

Intake

If you have diarrhea, the tablets should be taken on an empty stomach with plenty of liquid.It is ideal to take it with a glucose-electrolyte solution to compensate for the loss of water and salt.In the case of poisoning, the tablets are dissolved in water to form a paste and drunk in small sips.

Patient information

The tablets should be taken until bowel movements normalize.If there is no improvement after about 3 days, a doctor should be consulted.If poisoning is suspected, a doctor or emergency services should be informed immediately.

Notes

If you are unconscious, the tablets suspended in water should be administered through a stomach tube.Medicinal charcoal is not effective for poisoning with organic and inorganic salts, as well as solvents such as lithium, thallium, cyanide, iron salts, methanol, ethanol and ethylene glycol.In such cases, other measures to eliminate toxins are necessary.In many cases of poisoning, a specific antidote must be taken in addition to medicinal charcoal.
